Luggage collection at 10:30 at Hotel Real Colegiata de San Isidoro in León.
After lunch at a restaurant, our bus will take us to San Feliz where El Expreso de La Robla awaits us.
Presentation of the crew, accommodation and transfer to Matallana.
From here, travelling through the spectacular Hoces de Vegacervera, we reach Valporquero, to visit the extraordinary caves, famous for their stalactites, stalagmites and strange forms shaped by the flow of water, and its impressive Gran Rotonda, a vast open underground space of 100,000 m3.
Next, we will return to the train to travel to Cistierna where we will have dinner at a restaurant and stay overnight.
Day 2. (Saturday) Cistierna – Espinosa de Los Monteros
While enjoying your first breakfast on board, the train will take us to Guardo, a beautiful town in Palencia.
We will then travel by bus to visit the Roman Villa of La Olmeda, with its magnificent collection of mosaics, before discovering one of the best sites of Romanesque art in Europe, right on the Camino de Santiago. Carrión de los Condes, Frómista and the Canal de Castilla.
Lunch at restaurant.
In the afternoon, by train, we will arrive at Espinosa de los Monteros, a beautiful town in Las Merindades in Burgos.
Dinner in a restaurant and overnight stay in Espinosa.
Day 3. (Sunday) Espinosa de los Monteros – Bilbao
While having breakfast we will cross the incredible landscape of the Mena Valley to reach Bilbao.
We will then visit the city and the universally known Guggenheim museum.
