Route
Day one, Saturday: San Sebastián-Carranza.
Reception in San Sebastian at 13:00 in the Barceló Costa Vasca Hotel.
City tour and lunch, then our luxury bus will take us to Bilbao, where the Transcantábrico Gran Lujo awaits us.
Upon our arrival the crew will offer us a welcome drink.
Travel to Carranza while enjoying our first dinner on board.
Night in Carranza.
Day two, Sunday: Carranza-Santander.
We will start the morning, as every day, enjoying our delicious á la carte breakfast and buffet.
We will return to Bilbao to visit this city full of dynamism, which has managed to reinvent itself after the decline of its traditional heavy industry.
The tour includes the entrance to the famous Guggenheim Museum, symbol of this new Bilbao.
Return to the train to enjoy lunch on board, as we head to Santander.
Tour of the elegant capital of Cantabria and free time to discover it on your own.
Dinner and night in Santander.
Day three, Monday: Santander-Cabezón de la Sal.
During breakfast, travel to Cabezón de la Sal on the train.
Transfer by bus to visit the Hermida Spa, thermal bath or leisure time.
Lunch at the spa, in the afternoon we will visit Gaudí's Capricho in Comillas.
Dinner and overnight on board in Cabezón de la Sal.
Day four, Tuesday: Cabezón de la Sal-Llanes.
We start the day with a visit to the town of Santillana del Mar, with its magnificently preserved medieval historic centre.
Afterwards, we will visit the Neo-cave of Altamira, a museum with an accurate reconstruction of the finest example of cave painting from the Upper Palaeolithic.
After lunch on board, we enter Asturian lands to Llanes.
Dinner on board and overnight stay in LLanes.
Day five, Wednesday: Llanes-Oviedo.
After breakfast we will go by bus into the heart of the Picos de Europa National Park.
We will visit the Sanctuary of Covadonga, a sacred place full of tradition and legend.
Return to the train for lunch on board while travelling to Oviedo, capital of the Principality of Asturias and one of the main examples of the Asturian pre-Romanesque, with unique spaces, such as San Julián de los Prados.
Visit, dinner outside and overnight in Oviedo on the train.
Day six, Thursday: Oviedo - Luarca.
We start the day by going to Gijón, a city as open to the Cantabrian Sea as it is full of cultural events.
City tour and meal at a local restaurant.
We will return to the train to travel along the Asturian coast to Luarca, the White Village of the Costa Verde, where we will enjoy a guided tour of this charming fishing town.
Dinner and overnight on board in Luarca.
Day seven, Friday: Luarca - Viveiro.
Travel to Ribadeo, a historic Galician town bordering the Principality of Asturias.
We will travel along the coast by bus to Las Catedrales beach, one of the most spectacular in the world.
Next, we will take a panoramic tour of Ribadeo and have lunch in a restaurant.
In the afternoon, we will arrive in Viveiro by train, where, after the guided tour, you can enjoy some free time.
Dinner on board and overnight in Viveiro.
Day eight, Saturday: Viveiro - Santiago de Compostela.
During your last breakfast on board, we will arrive at Ferrol, where the bus will pick you up and take you to Santiago de Compostela.
Tour of the historical centre of this city, a destination of pilgrims for a thousand years, which holds countless artistic jewels, such as its magnificent cathedral.
End of trip after the visit, at the parador de los Reyes Católicos, at around 1:00 pm.
